We model
joy in three
dimensions.
From the first wireframe to the final render — architecture, characters, products, and whole worlds, designed with engineering precision and built in Athens.
JOY · χαρά · /xaˈra/ — the feeling of a render that finally lands.
One studio. Every dimension you can draw.
We work across disciplines that usually need a dozen vendors — modeled, textured, and rendered under one roof in Athens.
Architectural & Interior Photorealism
Photoreal exteriors, interiors, and walkthroughs that sell a space before a brick is laid.
Character Design & Sculpting
Concept-to-final characters — stylized or hyperreal — sculpted, retopologized, rig-ready.
3D Printing & Prototyping
Print-optimized models, watertight meshes, prototypes ready for FDM, SLA, or resin.
Game Assets & Real-time
Optimized props, environments, and characters with PBR textures and clean LODs for any engine.
Art & Sculpture Projects
Digital art, generative pieces, and physical sculpture, from idea to fabricated object.
Product & Industrial Design
Parametric CAD, manufacturable parts, and clean technical drawings ready for production.
…you name it.
Animation, motion graphics, VR/AR, CAD conversion, restoration of legacy drawings — if it lives in 3D, we can model it. Something unusual in mind? That's our favourite brief.
Walk through your space before it exists.
We don't just hand you a render to look at — we put you inside it. JOY builds fully photoreal, first-person VR walkthroughs of your new or renovated property, so you can stand in the room, look around, and feel the light before a single wall goes up.
True first-person presence
Put on a headset and explore at real-world scale — every height, sightline, and doorway as it'll feel.
Photoreal light & materials
Physically-based lighting and materials, with the sun tracked to your actual site and orientation.
Decide before you build
Swap finishes, move walls, test layouts in real time — catch the expensive mistakes for free.
A range of renders, sketched in wireframe.
A snapshot of the pieces JOY builds — across architecture, characters, products and play.
From brief to delivery, on a clean pipeline.
Every project runs the same transparent four-stage pipeline — so you always know what's modeled, what's pending, and what's next.
Brief & references
We map scope, references, and constraints, then agree on style, scale, and deliverables.
Model & block-out
Greyboxing and base geometry first, so proportions and composition lock early.
Texture & iterate
Materials, lighting, and revisions in shared previews — your notes drive every pass.
Render & deliver
Final renders, print-ready meshes, or engine-ready assets, in the formats you need.
Built on free & open-source software.
Almost everything we make is created with free and open-source tools — not as a compromise, but as a deliberate ethical choice. No locked formats, no rented access, no software you can't inspect.
You own your files
Open formats mean your models, scenes, and drawings stay readable and editable forever — by us, by you, or by anyone you choose. Zero vendor lock-in.
Ethics over licences
We believe the tools that build culture should be free to study, share, and improve. Open source keeps software honest, transparent, and accessible to all.
Fairer pricing
No five-figure licence fees baked into your invoice. The savings on closed software go straight back into your project — and your pocket.

Athens-based.
Dimension-obsessed.
JOY started from a simple idea: technical precision and pure creative delight don't have to live in separate files.
We're a CAD design studio in the heart of Athens, working with architects, developers, game studios, product teams, and artists — anyone with something they want to see in three dimensions. A photoreal apartment, a printable figurine, a game-ready world: we treat every polygon like it matters, because it does.
Nicholas Ronald Russell
Greek-British and born in 1985, Nicholas works where engineering rigour meets pure imagination. He holds qualifications in IT & Management and Industrial Product Design, and an MA in Computer-Aided Design — the technical, the systematic, and the artistic, all under one roof.
Across two decades he has designed for architectural, industrial, and technology companies in both Greece and Britain, and brought characters to the page for Dark Horse Comics on a Masters of the Universe title — moving fluently between the precision of the drawing board and the wild edges of fantasy art.
JOY is where all of it converges: a studio built to take a lifetime of craft to a brand-new level of creativity.
“Precision is the discipline. Joy is the whole point.”
Let's build something worth rendering.
Tell us what you're imagining — a building, a character, a product, a print, or something nobody's tried yet. We reply to every brief.
